National Packaging Covenant (NPC) Commitment

 

ASSA ABLOY's Asia Pacific division comprises companies in Australia, New Zealand, China, Korea and South East Asia. As part of this division, ASSA ABLOY Australia Pty Limited manufacture, import, export, market and sell a complete range of residential and commercial locking solutions. As a manufacturer of packaged goods ASSA ABLOY Australia is committed to the underpinning principles of a shared responsibility for the lifecycle management of packaging.

ASSA ABLOY Australia signed the NPC on 22nd January 2003 and remains committed to proactively supporting the Covenant.

Through the transitional funding arrangements, ASSA ABLOY Australia is committed to supporting the activities aimed at the optimisation of kerb side recycling, landfill waste reduction and increasing the recycle rate of 'non-recyclable' materials. ASSA ABLOY Australia also continues to focus on the ongoing improvement of their manufacturing facility, incorporating in everyday practices the principles of "reduce, reuse, recycle and recover".

ASSA ABLOY Australia will continue to allocate resources and business activities to assist in reaching the National Packaging Covenant goals. ASSA ABLOY Australia will continue to be responsive to the ongoing needs of the communities in which it operates; and will develop technical and financially responsible solutions to issues of environmental concern, consistent with its business goals.
