Queensland Raceway

Charging for his third win of the year, Jason Bright was ground to a halt today at Queensland Raceway when a anti-roll bar problem scuppered Team BOC’s run.

After pitting for the second time and re-joining in sight of second place, Jason Bright reported a loose left-rear tyre on the radio.

The crew brought him in but, when the problem was not evident, wheeled Brighty into the garage. He re-joined 12 laps down and finished 28th.

The next race is the Season of Endurance opener at Phillip Island from 16-18 September.

Jason Bright
“Qualifying has been our Achilles Heel for most of the year. We had a test day last week and worked pretty hard on it. After yesterday I was reasonably buoyed by the speed and we gained a little bit more overnight but there’s still more to come. We’re still making bigger changes than I would like going into qualifying as opposed to when we get right on top of it.

“In the race tyre life was very good in the first stint. After the pit stop we never had the same pace again. Going longer with the pit stop, like we did, we should have been able to catch leaders Tim Slade and Craig Lowndes much quicker but, unfortunately, we just didn’t have the pace. Obviously something was starting to go wrong from that point.”
