Clipsal 500 - Adelaide
Concrete walls claimed both Team BOC cars at today's Clipsal 500, leaving the crew with plenty of work to do before next weekend's AGP support races.
A slow left-rear puncture spun Jason Bright from 11th into the wall on lap 35 causing substantial front-end damage to the car. A phenomenal effort from the Team BOC crew saw Brighty rejoin in the nick of time to qualify as a finisher and score valuable points.
Jason Bargwanna, meanwhile, was taken out by Todd Kelly on only lap two of the 77-lap race after the Kelly Racing driver got it wrong in very wet conditions.

"I had radioed the lap before to say I thought we had a lot more under-steer on that set of tyres. Just after that, I went through the first chicane and it just snapped into the wall. By the sounds of it, we had a left-rear puncture, which explains why we were struggling.
"It's so important to try and make it back out there at the moment and the guys did a great job. I was pushing as hard as I could for a while there, trying to stay in front of Jamie Whincup because I thought if we went down another lap we wouldn't qualify as a finisher.
"We didn't exactly put the best set of tyres on so we just didn't have the pace to keep him off, although the times we were doing were good enough for fifth or sixth, which is pretty good considering we were on old rubber. I'm very happy with the car."

"The guys in front were being cautious because of the conditions but clearly the knuckle heads behind me weren't. On lap 2 of a 78 lap race it's pathetic behaviour really.
"In that first lap we had passed a couple of cars and I was putting a lot of pressure on Russell Ingall. I was waiting for my tyres to come up to pressure but I've got no doubt that we had a car capable of racing into the top ten but I guess we'll never know."
