ITM400 - Hamilton
Jason Bright raced from the back of the Hamilton 400 V8 Supercar grid more than once today to get Team BOC's 11th place finish.
Brighty started 24th after qualifying was effectively cut short when rain started falling just four minutes into the session. Being at the back of pit lane, Bright was one of the last cars to start a flying lap and did not get a dry run.
In the race, he worked his way up to 14th by lap 11 but a safety car saw him queuing in pit lane and he rejoined 22nd.
He recovered to race up to seventh before Tony D'Alberto ran into his right-rear wheel, spinning himself and Todd Kelly out in the process. Bright recovered but was a 'sitting duck' after the resulting safety car and dropped to 11th place over the closing laps.
Team BOC will next be in action at Barbagallo Raceway, Perth, in two weeks' time.

"Tony D'Alberto went to switch back and go down my inside and ran into me; just nailed my right-rear wheel. He carried on and took Todd Kelly out as well. It was a big hit and the car didn't feel 100% after that. I had to make sure we got any result we could though and it could have been a lot worse.
"I was a sitting duck into Turns Five and Six. Even cutting it as much as I was I was losing ground. Every time I went into it with a car half-close to me, even three lengths back, they were all over me by the time I got to the next corner.
"The safety car certainly didn't go our way earlier on there and we lost out. We got track position back later on by getting clear track on new tyres for a couple of laps. We really just didn't have the tyres to race at the end there because we had pitted earlier."

"From the tough qualifying position that all three of our cars had today, I felt the Team BOC car really ended up in a strong position, running in the top seven until D'Alberto made contact and bent the suspension on the car. Really at that point we were the walking wounded."
